Maldoro: A Better Way to Focus — Meet Your New Pomodoro Companion

I’ve recently started learning how to build native Linux desktop applications with GTK4, GNOME, and Libadwaita. For my first project, I wanted to build something small, practical, and something I could actually use in my everyday workflow.

That’s where Maldoro comes in.

This project is also a learning experience for me. I’m getting more familiar with GTK4, Libadwaita, GNOME’s design patterns, application structure, UI development, and the process of turning an idea into an actual desktop application. There’s still a lot for me to learn, and I’m sure the project will change quite a bit as development continues.

Right now, Maldoro is still in active development. Some things are working, while other features are still being designed, implemented, or improved. I’m taking my time to learn along the way and make the app feel polished rather than rushing it out.

The goal is to eventually make Maldoro available for others to try as well. It’s not ready yet, but I’m working toward an initial release soon. 🚧

For now, Maldoro is a small project, but it’s an exciting starting point for me to explore GNOME development and build something useful at the same time. I’m looking forward to seeing where the project goes as I continue learning and adding new features.
